About the Show

The H-Train Show

Giving Veterans a Voice Since 2015

The H-Train Show is one of the flagship programs on Military Broadcast Radio (MBR)—a nonprofit based in Denver, Colorado dedicated to giving Veterans, First Responders, and their families a platform to be heard. Founded in 2015, the show has grown into a nationally recognized voice for the Veteran community.

Hosted by U.S. Army Veteran and TBI survivor Joel “H-Train” Hunt, the show blends real stories, real struggles, and real solutions for those who have served.

Show Overview

Host

Joel Hunt is a retired U.S. Army combat Veteran, TBI survivor, and the Executive Director of Military Broadcast Radio. After taking over MBR in 2018, he continued to expand and elevate The H-Train Show, which originally launched in 2015. His lived experience shapes every episode, bringing honesty, humor, and heart to conversations that matter.

Format & Content

Broadcast live from MBR’s Rail Head Station Studios, the show mixes talk, interviews, and music. Each episode includes:

  • Station news and community announcements

  • Veteran-centered discussions: PTSD, TBI, transition, mental health, and current events

  • Special guests: Veterans, nonprofit leaders, authors, clinicians, and subject-matter experts

  • Musical breaks that support the episode’s theme or highlight Veteran musicians

Purpose & Mission

The H-Train Show reflects MBR’s core mission: empowering Veterans through storytelling and connection.
Since 2015, the show has helped thousands of listeners by embracing vulnerability, honesty, and the power of shared experience.

“This is the best rehabilitation. Sharing the mic, sharing the truth, and helping each other move forward.”

Where to Listen

The show airs live on MBR’s online stream and is later uploaded to the MBR podcast network.
Listeners can find full episodes on:

  • MBRadio.us

  • The MBR mobile app

MBR also trains Veterans nationwide to host their own shows, extending the mission far beyond Denver.

Veteran Resources & Community Impact

Each episode highlights nonprofits, organizations, and support services that assist Veterans and their families. Joel regularly collaborates with community partners, builds resource guides, and drives outreach efforts to ensure Veterans always have someone in their corner.

Why It Matters

Peer Support

The show is Veteran-led, Veteran-produced, and Veteran-trusted.
Listeners relate deeply because the conversations come from real lived experience.

Empowerment Through Voice

MBR exists to give Veterans the tools to speak, connect, heal, and inspire.
The H-Train Show has carried that mission since 2015—and continues today.
