About Us

Military Broadcast Radio (MBR) stands as a beacon of entertainment, information, and unwavering support for our military community. With a proud history spanning 14 years, MBR has been a voice and an ear for those who serve. Initially led by Jim Butler, the station found its new steward in Joel Hunt in 2018, who was entrusted with the honor and responsibility to carry forward the MBR legacy.

Our vision is ambitious: to become a pioneering nonprofit internet radio station that offers solace and support to disabled veterans struggling to adapt to civilian life due to the scars of their service. We believe in the therapeutic power of DJ-ing—not just as a form of rehabilitation, but as a means to empower our veterans to share their voices, perspectives, and continue their service to the community in a new capacity.

We are committed to turning veterans’ dreams into reality, aiding their healing, and reigniting their sense of purpose. Our conviction is strong: with the right motivation and the power of a simple microphone, we can challenge the despair that leads to 22 veteran suicides each day.

Join us in this noble endeavor. Your support can transform lives, offering hope and a new direction. Together, we can make a difference—one voice, one broadcast, one veteran at a time.

OUR MISSION IS:

(a) Providing our military veterans and First Responders with programs from nonprofit organizations who are willing to give assistance to the veterans’ specific needs that the United States Department of Veterans Affairs do not give enough of or provide;
(b) Providing military veterans, active troops, and anyone who is interested with today’s hit music of different genres, latest world news and entertainment news, along with helpful tips of everyday life of a civilian or active military personnel wherever around the world they might be located;
(c) Training veterans to podcast, set up their equipment and eventually do their shows on their own; and
(d) Helping veterans thereby gain confidence, give them purpose and help them set goals with an eye toward suicide prevention.
